About the event
Drawing people can feel intimidating—I’ve been there. For years, I avoided figures in my sketches, afraid of getting proportions wrong or missing the moment entirely. But over time, I discovered that people are exactly what make a page feel alive.
In this workshop, I’ll share my approach to overcoming that fear and turning people into a powerful storytelling tool. We’ll start with single figures, observing body language and capturing movement from different angles using quick, intuitive lines. As confidence builds, we’ll layer multiple figures onto one page, learning how to compose them together to create rhythm, depth, and energy.
The focus isn’t perfection—it’s learning how people, even loosely drawn, can transform an urban sketch into something dynamic, enchanting, and full of life. This workshop is ideal for anyone who wants to feel freer, faster, and more confident drawing people in motion. Location: Fine Arts Building #412 410 S Michigan Ave, Chicago,…
